People search "THCa vs THC" more than almost anything else about THCa. Here is the short answer, then the details.
The short answer
THCa and delta-9 THC are two different compounds. THCa turns into delta-9 THC when it is heated. Our flower and concentrates are made to be smoked, vaped, or dabbed.
What is THCa?
THCa is the main compound measured in our flower and concentrates. Every Miracle of the Desert listing shows its THCa percentage from lab testing. Our flower currently tests between about 27% and 32% THCa, and our concentrates between about 75% and 95%.
What is delta-9 THC?
Delta-9 THC is the THC most people already know. When THCa is heated, it converts into delta-9 THC.
Why the difference matters: the law
Under the current federal standard, hemp is measured by its delta-9 THC, which must be 0.3% or less by dry weight. That is why our listings say "Contains less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight."
That standard is changing. A new federal law counts THCa toward the same 0.3% limit, measured as total THC. Those rules are set to take effect on or about December 11, 2026. Our hemp law page explains what changed and what it means for what we sell.
